Trying something new

Socks on 2 circ's is proving to be a pretty nifty way to do socks. My knitting mojo has been a little off lately, and I really haven't had much of the urge to knit. I still have 2 WIPs, the socks and my Trellis Scarf. Trellis has been sitting around for the last couple of weeks waiting for me to move past the border. The whole knit 7 together part of the pattern (which there is a lot of), has really been delaying my urge for the tiny yarn. Forecast is for a gloomy weekend here in Des Moines, so maybe the motivation will hit?

Hubbs took me to try something new last night: El Salvadoran food....YUM (side note: that link is for a great website that highlights ethnic and international cuisine)! We had Plantanos Fritos con Crema (Fried Plantains with Sour Cream), Pupusas de Queso y Chicharron (Pupusas stuffed with cheese and pork), and Tacos de Asada (Steak Tacos). I am a big fan of the Pupusas, and even though I hear that they aren't very Salvadoran, the tacos were fab (great seasoning on the steak, fresh cilantro, and the right amount of onions). Fantastic! There are a couple El Salvadoran restaurants here in town, so I might have to check them out too! I really enjoy Mexican food as well as Asian food....El Salvadoran seems to have more flavor then Mexican...could it be my new South of the Border favorite?? Plus, I love supporting the local family restaurants. Can you believe that we got: 5 tacos, 2 pupusas, and an order of fried plantains for $14? Not often can we go out to eat something so fresh and good for under $20 for the 2 of us.

I am a little worried about the food in France. I am sure I will find something that I like there, but just in case...can I survive the whole week on pastries, crepes, and coffee???? Hmmm.....

It's gloomy on this side of the state as well... When I was 16 I spent some time in France. I lived on bread, Croque Monsieur, and pastries. I think that you will find plenty to satsify your palate.

I am pretty sure that living on bread and coffee for a week is doable. I would try to throw in some cheese here and there for good measure!
