Project Decided

After a nice trip this morning to one of our local yarn stores, my Olympic project has been decided! I will be doing the Perfect Pie Shawl from Melanie Falick's Weekend Knits. This will be done in Rowan's Kidsilk Haze (cross your fingers on this one) and the trim will be done in Louisa Harding Yarn's Impression.

I could not resist after getting my hands on these yarns. The colors are really great together, I don't think my pics do them justice. I had received a gift certificate for this yarn store and so this was a fun purchase to make!

This pattern offers two different trims. The one in the picture here is a picot edging. I am going to do an edge similar to this, although I might make some adaptions so I can highlight this trim.

Now the hard part is going to be waiting to start this until the Opening Ceremonies! (I guess a little swatch is allowed though)

I can't wait to fondle your new yarn :) We should get together for the opening ceremony and cast on for our Olympic projects at the same time. I plan to study up on my pattern and maybe practice on some scrap yarn so I know what I am doing and it goes smoothly.

Yes yes, swatching is allowed! Sounds like a plan, let's put it on our calendars.
