Choices, Choices

For the last several days, I have been searching around for an Olympic pattern. I looked through my knitting books, I searched the web, I even looked at the patterns I have stashed away for future knits. What I am looking for is the perfect stole/wrap/shawl to wear for some St. Patty's day festivities. I will be spending the weekend in the Windy City with some of my most favorite sorority sisters for shopping, indulgences, & just plain fun.

I have been thinking something in the green colorway, afterall, I am Irish (Woohoo) and it would be in the spirit of St. Patty's of course. Also, it doesn't hurt at all that green is definitely one of my colors. My dear grandpa used to call me his Wild Irish Rose....so this would be a tribute to my heritage as well.

Here is what I am leaning towards:
1. Clapotis (this would be my 2nd, the 1st took me a month on size 3's)
2. Lady Eleanor from Scarf Style (it would be my first entrelac experience, and I heart the fringe technique they used for finishing)--Side note: Check out the price on the yarn they used in the pattern, Ouch! Sooooo beautiful though. Substitute needed.
3. Perfect Pie Shawl from Weekend Knitting (a mohair experience, and some seemingly tricky edging)

All of these would provide their own challenges. I am inspired to work along side with all of the other knitters joining up on this ambitious challenge. I have never really gotten hooked on the Olympics before, but here is my chance! Knitting and Olympics, pretty sweet idea.

Today and this weekend I will be taking care of hubby as he gets his wisdom teeth removed. What a trooper! I am hoping to get some major work done on my 2nd sock & 2nd mitten as well as get out to the yarn store and start looking for the perfect yarn for my Olympic project. Since I love all 3 ideas, the true decision will really be on what yarn I can find that I really love. Sometimes when you are searching, I find that the yarn itself can be the answer!
