Our State Fair is a Great State Fair....
August in Iowa would not be complete without a trip to the state fair. I had to make it out for a quick trip this year (if not only to have my annual corn dogs...yum).
Here is the infamous butter cow. This year's butter cow was accompanied by a butter Superman (since the new Superman is from IA....woot woot)! What do you think of the mutant pumpkins?

All I can think when I look at those pumpkins are how many pies they will make. Yum.
Mutant pumpkins...he he he. I am reminded of the movie Attack of the Killer Tomatoes.
Did you get a chance to check out the knitted items at the fair?
I'm just now catching up and let me just say, wow! You have had a lot going on! Your vacation looks like it was beautiful. I especially love the picture of the waterfall, just gorgeous. Oh, our state fair has the whole butter cow too, and usually some other sort of butter scuplture!
I've been missing the Iowa State Fair, especially eating my way through it- thanks for the photo recap. :)
